The Objectives of "Letters For Palestine"
I agonised and spent Two Years "Humming and Haw'ing before finally deciding to send my first email to the Minister of Foreign Affairs here in New Zealand. I asked him what New Zealand's position was on the Israeli attack on Gaza in 2006. Since then, I have had no hesitation on letting New Zealand Politicians, including the Prime Minister, know what I thought about specific issues that concerned me.
That first email was the hardest and I wished that I had the courage to start communuicating with my Political Representatives much earlier.
I have set up this site to give people an overview of the Background to the Issues in Palestine/Israel and Resources you can use to write emails (letters) to Politicians within your country. The intention is that if Politicians start to get a lot of letters from their constituents, they may finally take action on Palestine/Israel.
This conflict has been ongoing since Israel was set up in 1948 and was exacerbated in 1967 with the Israeli invasion of Jerusalem, the West Bank, Gaza, the Egyptian Sinai and the Syrian Golan.
Israel has created a state where the Abuse of the Unarmed Civilian population under Occupation by the Israeli Military is allowed. It often uses Terrorist action to try to scare the Occupied into living quietly as their homes and lands are stolen to be given to Jewish "Settlers". In Illegally transferring parts of the Israeli Population into the Occupied West Bank, Israel has created an Apartheid state where the people under occupation for more than 50 years have no rights to vote in the system which controls their lives.
Most Politicians around the world have looked the other way and allowed zionism to continue with it's Abusive, Terrorist and Apartheid ways. This website has been set up to help people who want to write emails (or letters) to the politicians in their own countries. And to provide the resources to make email (letter) writing easy.
On the menu, you will find the following resources:
- How to Write an email (letter) to your Politicians made easy
- A List of Ongoing or Urgent Issues you may want to communicate to your Politicians with "example text" for letters that you can copy and paste into an email or a letter
- A "List of Relevant Politicians" with their Position and contact Email addresses (under continued development)
- Relevant International Conventions
- Resources that you can read or watch if you want to become more acquainted with the history and issues that surround Palestine/Israel
- Options for contributing to the Development and Maintenance of this website of you believe it is of value
If you want to try this out before sending an email to a politician, please send me an email. I will reply letting you know how it went and if there are any changes you need to make.
- Click on my email address - [email protected]
- Go to "Ongoing issues to be covered"
- Choose an issue you are interested in and then copy and past the text into the email, edit it and then send it to me.
If you are convinced that you wish to take action by writing a letter to your politicians, the connections and text for letters are provided to make your life easier. At the end of each letter, there are a few questions which you ask your Politicians so that they are forced to respond to you. If they don't respond, we reccommend following up with resending the email 3 - 4 weeks later. And again until you receive a response.
If you decide this process is for you, the objective is to write perhaps One Letter every two Months on a different issue so that politicians get an ongoing stream of letters on a number of topics. Hopefully these letters will finally encourage them to take action to work to stop the zionist abuse of the Captive Palestinian population.
Of course, there are many other issues that you may be aware of and want to communicate to a politician within your country. If you know of an issue and wish it to be included on this website, please send us the Background and your proposed Text to [email protected]
I urge you to try out this resource by writing at least one email (letter). Once you see how easy it is, we hope you will continue to write more letters.
Please edit the suggested text to reflect Your Concerns and also make it Your email/Letter.
The hope is that if politicians start to get more and more emails (letters) from the voters, they may be encouraged to take action.

(be strong & good health)
Neil
