To: Jacinda Ardern - Prime Minister ([email protected])
Subject - Transfer of Palestinians from the Occupied Territories into Israel – Attn Prime Minister Ardern
Dear Ms Ardern - Prime Minister - New Zealand
It has come to my attention that the Israeli Military and Israeli Police often transfer Palestinian prisoners from the Occupied Palestinian Territories into Israel.

Please note the 4th Geneva Convention - Article 49: "Individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory to the territory of the Occupying Power or to that of any other country, occupied or not, are prohibited, regardless of their motive.”

This seems to me to make Israel's action there Illegal.
My questions are:
I look forward to receiving answers to the questions asked above.

This seems to me to make Israel's action there Illegal.
My questions are:
- Does New Zealand support the Geneva Conventions – Specifically the 4th Geneva Convention?
- Does the New Zealand government consider Israel's actions in transferring Palestinians under arrest from the Occupied Palestinian Territories into Israel, Legal or Illegal under 4th Geneva Convention - Article 49?
- If Israel's actions are Illegal, what steps/actions will the New Zealand government take to bring Israel to task on this issue?
I look forward to receiving answers to the questions asked above.
Kind regards
